I would like to congratulate XNRG on a superbly well run event in the Chilterns. It was a fabulous day out in stunning countryside. Everything went like clockwork, registration, briefing and the course was marked perfectly with tape, signs and sometimes quite elaborate pictograms sprayed on the ground making the maps supplied only necessary as an overview of the route.
I find it quite mind boggling that you can plot and mark such a varied and interesting course in 31 miles of countryside, check it and then clear up afterwards. It made the entry fee worth it alone
Dear Brian and Neil,
Firstly, thank you organising another great challenge! I really enjoyed it, and would encourage you to put on more 1 day events. My only suggestion is to try to avoid putting this race on at the same time as the Race to the stones, as they start in the same area and there was lots of confusion at Rigsborough Station as to who was getting on to our mini bus pick up..we almost ended up with several of the Race to the Stones runners! Also, some of my friends had already booked for the other race before you announced this new I day Ultra, and would have liked to have run both (as would have I) so I suggest that next year you do try to put them on different days?
Otherwise, I would highly recommend this race to my friends.
Thanks Brian and Neil,
Karen Summerville xx
Just a quick note to say thank you for organising a brilliant day at the Chiltern Challenge.
I have done quite a few races and this was one of the best organised.
The check points were well stocked and the Marshalls were brilliant. It was so nice to have people offering to fill water bottles, especially towards the end of the race when I was getting tired and the simplest of tasks takes a lot of energy.
THIS WAS ALSO THE BEST MARKED COURSE I'VE RUN - AND THAT'S SO REASSURING IN A LONG RACE.
