About our races
Who are our races for?
Whether you are a runner or walker, competitor or participant, our races are for you. XNRG's philosophy is one of inclusion, we stagger our start times so that runners are not left out at the back, and we'll wait for the last person to finish with no cut off times.
Do I have to be an Ultra Runner?
Our races are formulated so that anyone can come along - we have one day 50k ultra marathons which are perfect for beginners in ultra-running. The smiles, friends you'll meet along the way, food at checkpoints, encouragement, safety and cake at the end will be sure to make your first experience of ultra running one that you'lll keep on coming back for.
What about accommodation for multi-day races?
When you enter an XNRG event, your food and accomodation is all included. We stay in schools and colleges, there is a fantastic sense of community. However, you're welcome to book your own separate accomodation and just pay for the race entry - it's up to you.
How will I navigate?
Our courses are run on National Trails which are usually well-marked. In addtion we provide course profiles and GPS files for your garmin, plus a route card for you. You will also have our team on hand, just a phone call away if you need assistance and other competitors on the course. Our checkpoints are carefully designed to fuel you and support you along the way!
Do you supply food on the way?
When you pass our checkpoints there is food available including sweet and savoury snacks and juice. We ask that you carry water with you, and some people carry their own food too.
What do we do in the evening on a multi-day race?
People tend to enjoy relaxing after a day our running on our beautiful trails. XNRG put on a good evening meal for you to prepare you for the day ahead and help replenish your muscles. We then provide an inspiring talk from an endurance athlete that you can attend if you wish. People love these talks because they are super inspiring. It's lights out at 10pm so you can enjoy a night of rest ahead of another exciting day of ultra running.
